This ten week course is held every Thursday at the Yandina Community Gardens on the Sunshine Coast and will teach about how to identify, cultivate and harvest tropical vegetables in a sub-tropical climate. It consists of four units taken from a certificate ll in Horticulture. Once you learn how to grow and cook with these unusual but delicious tropical vegetables, you will be ensured of a productive garden all year round. Our sub-tropical summers are simply too hot for most of our favourite temperate vegetables but the tropical vegetables do really well in our hot dry / wet summers. Students will be doing practical as well as theory and will have access to lots of planting material for their own gardens. The cost of this course is $260 and concession card holders can pay by installments if they wish . Contact Elisabeth Fekonia for a course overview and for bookings.
